NaturEtrade is a web-based mapping tool for ecosystem service evaluation of land in Europe. The project was developed by researchers in the Department of Zoology, University of Oxford, working closely with colleagues in Sylva Foundation with extensive expertise in the provision of online resources and planning tools for land management. It was co-funded by the University of Oxford and the LIFE+ programme of the European Commission.
This very short survey seeks to get your feedback on how likely you are to use such a tool, and to gather ideas for improvements. The first part asks asks a few questions to establish the respondent profile generally, and the second part asks you to test the tool and give us some feedback on your experience.
NaturEtrade demonstrates a novel approach to enable EU landowners easily and rapidly to assess the ecological potential of land in terms of the ecosystem services that it provides, and then ‘trade’ these services with business (or other) parties who have an interest in maintaining ecological quality of land in Europe.
Beneficiaries of ecosystem services (including businesses, other land owners, national or regional/local government agencies) can contract with landowners for the continued and enhanced provision of these services.
